Darsfield EarthCare & Farm-Tech Foundation (Darsfoundation) aims at alleviating poverty of women and the youths in snails and mushroom farming for communities in afforestation program, slowing rural-urban drift, contributing to the creation of sustainable jobs. The project also aims at addressing the low level of technology and productivity in rural Ghana, low income and un-competitiveness in production, processing and distribution in agriculture. Darsfoundation also aims at addressing this deficiency through transfer of technology, thereby improving the low level of technology and productivity, as well as aiding in improving the low income levels of beneficiaries.
Global growth and poverty reduction over the next 20 years will be driven by today’s young people, yet many of them face significant difficulties in finding productive employment. Secondly, a profound statement by current Africa Development Bank (AfDB) President Akinwumi Adesina says that the next generation of billionaires will be farmers. The global economy will need to create millions of jobs each month simply to keep employment rates constant in the sub- Sahara region and particularly Ghana to reduce youth unemployment, rural-urban migration and illegal migration into Europe.
